Carry on digging as convenient. It is wise to complete as much as possible while the weather remains open. The first portion to be dug should be the onion bed. A firm, deeply dug soil is necessary, so double-dig now, breaking up the subsoil, and incorporate such manure as you can get. Ridge the soil if it is heavy, and so expose a greater surface to the action of the weather.
